Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 2 years, you probably heard about Angry Birds by now, a simple iOS title released back in December 2009, which became a worldwide phenomenon and expanded into one of the best selling franchises at the moment. The idea is simple, you are given a certain number of birds, and using a slingshot you must shoot them towards a bunch of pigs protected by random obstacles that you must destroy or get around in order to kill those green piggies. Apparently as the story says, those birds are angry because the pigs stole some eggs from them, and now they're trying to get them back by propelling their whole army into random walls, gotta love the logic. Besides that there is no other background to explain the events of the game, but it doesn't matter anyway, the game is fun and enjoyable as it is.

Apart from the the already mentioned "suicidal launch" towards walls, you also get points for everything you destroy and the extra birds that are left after you complete the level, and they all add up to form a level score that awards you from 1 to 3 stars, according to the amount of points you get. Everything is based on the same idea, and even if this would seem like one of the most repetitive games of all time, it isn't; there is something about Angry Birds that will keep you coming for more, and a quick level on the go or while you're bored waiting is always welcome and enjoyable. Even if the idea remains the same, the diverse levels are challenging and provide enough tactic diversity to keep you glued to the game for a while.

This a mobile title, and it looks exactly like one; even though this is a pretty and colorful game, there is nothing astonishing for a mobile title, the graphics do their job and the colors used fit perfectly into the ambient.

The sound effects are decent, and the soundtrack is great; on the other side, even if the gameplay doesn't feel repetitive, the soundtrack certainly does, thanks to Angry Birds, I now have that annoying theme stuck in my head.

There are ways to track your scores online, which helps if you're looking for a challenge, as well as comparing scores to your previous ones; and you can't say you have the game fully completed unless you've mastered all levels in 3 stars, so if you like Angry Birds, there's always something to come back for.

There is no explicable reason to miss playing a part in the worldwide Angry Birds phenomenon, this is a great game, and right now you can get it for the mobile platform of your choice for less than a cup of coffee.
